Triage

also: triaged, triaging

Sorting problems by how serious and urgent they are, so the worst ones get fixed first.

a bit more technical

Assessing incoming bugs or incidents for severity, impact, and urgency, then deciding what to fix now, what to schedule, and what to close. Triage decides order and ownership, not solutions.

picture it

An emergency room nurse checks everyone who walks in. A sprained wrist waits. A heart attack goes straight in. Nobody is treated yet; they're just sorted.

why it matters

Agents will happily fix whatever you point at. Triage keeps you from spending an afternoon on a typo while customers can't pay.

what your agent might say
agent
I triaged the 12 open issues. Two are critical (payments failing, drafts not saving), four are minor layout glitches, and the rest look like duplicates.
how you might use it
you → your agent
Triage these five bug reports. For each, tell me who is affected, how badly, and whether it should be fixed today or can wait.
common mistake

Thinking triage means fixing. Triage only sorts and prioritizes. The fixing happens afterward, in the order triage decided.
